Ways to celebrate Mother's Day during isolation

It’s frustrating we all can’t be without loved ones during this uncertain time. Calling her on the phone is lovely however it somehow doesn’t seem enough. We’ve come up with five different ways you could celebrate your mum this year whilst still respecting the guidelines for social distancing.

Send her flowers
Flowers are an easy go-to gift for Mother’s Day any year. This year you can still provide your mum with a beautiful bouquet and still keep it safe by getting it delivered to her door with no-contact delivery. Our favourite flower delivery services are Hello Blooms, Fig & Blooms, Daily Blooms, The Flower Shed and Flox Botanical. Please note: This is for the Melbourne area only. Find their delivery options on their separate websites.

Make a care package

You may be already making care packages for parents and family members at this strange time. This weekend, why not make your package slightly more special with all of your mum’s favourites. Instead of pasta, rice and toilet paper - try chocolate truffles, floral tea and a bottle of wine. Everyone loves a homemade gift, try whipping up your mum’s favourite biscuits and cakes and include them in your care package. Drop it off at her door and she’ll be thrilled!

Have a Zoom party with family
Recently some friends of the brand celebrated their birthday by having a Zoom party with extended family. They had a friend make three of the same cake and drop it off to each of the family member’s houses so everyone could enjoy the same cake and caught up over the video call. This was the closest thing to being in the same room as one another. Great idea if you don’t live too far away from your mum.

Gift her a book you love
Your mother may not be into flowers and chocolates, but does she love a good book? We love the idea of gifting books that you’ve read and loved onto people who may also enjoy it. Wrap it up and write a letter on why it spoke to you and why you think she’d love it too. Surprise her by sending it off in the mail.

Buy her something special
Why not find something for your mum and surprise her by purchasing it for her? By pursuing through Fashion Boundary you’re bound to find something she’ll love. We’ve put together some special pieces that know a few women in our lives would love.

We love the gorgeous peachy-pink tones in this collection of items. Feminine yet practical with the Double-breasted checked wool blazer from MUZA paired with the Sherbert Orange Silk Dress from Shopyte. Who doesn’t love a cashmere sweater? Luxurious and soft - the perfect present for Mother’s Day. We love the Sandrine Sweater from Podeny in neutral which we know she’ll keep forever.

Tan bags never go out of style, we love the
Thick Crescent Moon Bag in the colour, Red Earth from Simétrie and the Eight Tan Bag from X NIHILO. Simple and sophisticated accessories with the Icarus Earrings from Alejandra de Coss and the FORE earrings from Aka Jewellery. Lastly the Rhizaria Boot-Sandals Black in Black from Ballūta for something sensible and stylish.

Blues and greys are timeless and chic. We love this incredible Kluiver Two-Piece from MUZA paired with the Mia White Blouse from MsHEM and the Keira Aqua Loafers from Pleiades. The Zoom watch (style: 3864 Black) together with the Chain No.1 Earrings from Yoster and the Armilla Bracelet by Acchitto add a little glam.
